* Depending on the volume of water in the basement, we might try to salvage the basement carpeting by installing high CFM fans/blowers to quickly dry the carpet and padding.

* If the water volume was significant, we'll cut out the damaged drywall in a finished basement; remove the soaked carpeting and pad.

* Clean the walls and floors with a cleaning agent.
